when i work with tables in MySQL-I get error message as "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint PK_Patient_Registration . Cannot insert duplicate key in object Patient_Registration . The statement has been terminated."even if i dont have any duplicates in my table.why?

but instead of ordering it by its name i want to order it by what number of submission it is. So if it was the first thing submitted it would go before the second submitted.

I have a website with a table- in one cell i have images that create a navigation bar- in another cell i have site content- etc.

Ok- what I want is this: let s say I decide to change my navi-bar images- ie- the order and/or quantity of said images. Is there a way where all I have to do is edit one file and all the pages on my site will have that new navi-bar without me having to cut/paste the code for it into each file on my website?

I ve only learned basic css where I can change an external style sheet- etc- but i don t see how css can do what I m asking unless i haven t learned something important. Is there some kind of code where I can say "in this cell- filename.ext = content of cell"?

Or is there some other entirely other kind of workflow I can design with to do this? I ve started learning php/mysql but not much. Is there some kind of program that will do this for me- and which ones could work really well w/Dreamweaver CS3? I m not smart- I need easy to use programs.

My interest is to be able to have my .txt files and/or html files load dynamically. What I have the idea of is I can create a page and have all the text- images- prices whatever load directly from my mysql file. I am interested in concepts like this since I am new to php/mysql. On my website I have a table of paper types whose data mostly consists of numerical indexes into several other tables. One field- for example- is color. When I do a query into the paper table- I can sort by the ID of the color- but the color names in the color table aren t in any order in reference to their IDs. What I really need is some way to sort the results of my query by the name of the color- not by the ID. Follow?

In other words- sorting by ID groups all papers with the same color together- but the order of the groups is haphazard. I want the result set to be alphabetized by color NAME- which is a field available in the color table. Can I do that?

On that page- I do a mysql_escape_string on $word (Now I get You\\\ d). After that- it is put into a MySQL database (Where it is stored as You\ d). Follow me so far?

On another page- I retrieve that word. Now- when I try to do the SELECT function for MySQL- I say

"SELECT * FROM $table WHERE word= You\ d "

For some reason- it actually looks for "You\\\\\\\ d" and of course- it doesn t find it. Does anyone have ANY suggestions? I m in a pickle here. You get best answer for trying.

I am trying to run a site with Geocities- (because it s what I m familiar with/don t have a lot of money to start site)- and I am having a bit of trouble figuring out how to install Zen Cart.
I m not very proficient with FTP- either.

Here are the details:
I created the MySql and then I also made the catalog folder for the actualy Zen Cart stuff. But when I try to copy it into the FTP- it gives me a Critical Error for the .htaccess files.
Am I putting them in the wrong folder?
Should the catalog folder NOT be in the mysql folder?
Will they just simply not work with Geocities?
I have the small business account and the ftp is running smoothly- so I don t know what it could be.

I am using a simple php login script uses a mysql database. there is also an add user function. I need to set a minimum character limit so that someone doesn t just hit add user- adding blank values- and letting anyone login by just clicking login. Help would be great. Thanks- Tim

I need a website that allows a user to upload pictures with descriptions- browse the database of pictures based on keywords search- and displays the pictures via category.

Is there a template- or an application- or anything really that makes this simpler than coding the whole thing in mysql from scratch? Coding is really not my thing- and any help would be very much appreciated.

Ok so basically I am making a website for a local sports team. I have made a form where I can upload scores ect. What I want is to be able to uploadreviews of the game.

The way I would like to do this is by writing the review in word(or notepad if i cant do it in word) and save it as a .doc file(or .txt). Then have it upload to my mysql database. I already know how to write the code to upload files to the database.

I don t know the best way to do this. Is there a way to upload the file and then display it on my webpage with the same formatting? (without using frames)

Or would I have to read the contents from the document and store that in my database and then display it.

I ve got a PHP Guestbook on my website with the tables and database hosted by MySQL.

The PHP Guestbook defines the look- as well as how it s displayed (referencing the MySQL database).

I ve got a couple of TEST logs in the guestbook that are now viiewable on the site.

My question is- how do I manage/delete these?

It should be located SOMEWHERE on the MySQL Database right?
I assume all the data is logged there- is that correct?
If so- can you direct me as to where i should look?

Error I am receiving:

I seem to get these errors just with the script. Parse error: parse error- unexpected { on line 15.

The thing is I have the same script running on a Host Gator account- that registers- uploads photos and video. Godaddy sucks when it comes to hosting. It took me a while to find out how to even connect to the host using WSFTP.

I am using PHP 5 coding and I m supposed to be connected to a MYSQL 5 db. I think the MSQL version is still in 4 even though they give you the option to use 5. If anyone has any solutions reply back soon. Thanks!

Hey - Im currently creating a user registration and login page with mysql and php using dreamweaver. My Mysql database is hosted online and uses Phpmyadmin. My infomation is correct but its not working. Everytime i click Register it says No database selected. Can someone explain whats wrong. Also how should i connect just so i know im doing it correct. Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default- is open to intrusion- and you really should fix this security hole.

Hello everyone. I am the admin of furfags.com- which is basically just a community forum. I am currently hosted at 1and1.com. However- over the past few months- I have been seeing- with increasing frequency- error 500 (server error) on every single page. I have called 1and1 and they claim to be "running fixes" but nothing seems to work. Every day- I see error 500s and it is beginning to affect almost every page making the website just about unusable. Anyway- i do most of my programming work currently in windows- although i soon intend to switch out to coding in linux. Just wanted to ask what OS most people program in- and what IDE (if any( you use.

Using Textpad for Java- although i ll probably be moving over to eclipse at a later stage... we use JKreator or whatever its called at uni- but i dispise that program.

I have a large file (1.7million lines) that I wrote a script for in php to import into a mysql database. It takes 269 seconds to run and during that time my CPU usage only peaks at 33%- my question is why?

Is there some sort of throttling on php or mysql that I ve missed in the config... I don t understand why else it wouldn t try to use all the power available to import faster.

For the record- the quantity of data is 200MB- the data throughput of my RAID hard disk array is 300MB/s so it can t be that. I also have 8GB of RAM so it s not got a problem there.

Any ideas?
It s a quad processor. Is the reason then- that Apache can only use one core per script? I thought there was a way to distribute it and simulate a single core across them all...

@X- I think those are programs the user starts. MySQL does not show up under Sessions- but if I log in in verbose mode I see it start up and also if I do ps -A mysql shows up.

It makes a service for almost a year.. but after the typhoon and having no electricity for almost one month.... It will no longer connect and serve to other PCs as it serves before.... I already re-installed everything... Can someone help me makes run again my php program to reconnect to other PCs and makes a service... All our network PCs can communicate using ping... can share internet and files but only the apache server won t work.... I already configured the httpd.conf for the path of datas and server root. But on the server PC where I installed my PHP Mysql and Apache it works ....... only not in the service to other PCs... Help me please to reconfigure...

I was told it is easy to import from excel to database software.

I m a bespoke developer and have worked on many shopping carts from scratch- however for this job - given a lack of funding and a quick turnaround issue - I m looking for a pre-written alternative.

Looking for shared hosing for a website based on e107. Using GoDaddy right now and its slow. When I host the on my home server on a basic DSL connection for testing and development it runs 10x faster than GoDaddy even (NOTE: This is when I m accessing my home box remotely.....sad) GoDaddy crawls..... and I m not sure if its the GoDaddy service- DB- or that it just doesn t agree w/ e107. Want something in the $5-$10 a month range that is known to run a e107 website and run it fast. Need 1-5 gb space- atleast 5+ gb month bandwidth- MySQL- PHP- etc... If you have an e107 website please post the provider- price per month- and opinions. Hoping to elimate the buy/try/switch scenario and pick a good option the 2nd time around..... I m a bespoke developer and have worked on many shopping carts from scratch- however for this job - given a lack of funding and a quick turnaround issue - I m looking for a pre-written alternative.

Looking for shared hosing for a website based on e107. Using GoDaddy right now and its slow. When I host the on my home server on a basic DSL connection for testing and development it runs 10x faster than GoDaddy even (NOTE: This is when I m accessing my home box remotely.....sad) GoDaddy crawls..... and I m not sure if its the GoDaddy service- DB- or that it just doesn t agree w/ e107. Want something in the $5-$10 a month range that is known to run a e107 website and run it fast. Need 1-5 gb space- atleast 5+ gb month bandwidth- MySQL- PHP- etc... If you have an e107 website please post the provider- price per month- and opinions. Hoping to elimate the buy/try/switch scenario and pick a good option the 2nd time around..... It shouldn t be hard to find because this site is not traffic intensive and is not graphic or video intensive.

Heed help on query that seems have to be working but its not.
I need to do Left Join with multiple databases/tables.

LEFT JOIN db1.table2 ON db1.table1.id=db1.table2.id WHERE db1.table1.id=db2.table1.id
Mysql error says "unknown column db1.table1.id in ON clause"

I would like to create a simple customer login page.

I am aware of various programs available and different methods with php and mysql which I do not want to spend time learning. Instead my hosting provider provides a feature to password protect certain webpages.

However- my problem is getting my clients to the right page. What I want to do is have a form field on login page in which the user enters their username. The user is then directed to their page and asked for their password.

i.e. - On login page user enters username in form field -> |user1| this entry is then put into a web address -> http://www.mywebsite.com/user1.html The user would then be asked for his/her password and on entering this gain access to his/her personal page on my site.

All help big or small will be greatly appreciated.

I am sending the user to a page which IS password protected by my provider. Therefore- if you enter the address for this user s page you will be asked to enter this user s password. The first page where the user enters their username is simply to direct them to their page where they will be asked for the password.

I probably should have worded this differently. I simply want a formfield which when a username is entered it is used to redirect the user. So if the user enters username1 they will be directed to http://www.mywebsite.com/username1.html. If they enter username524 they will be directed to http://www.mywebsite.com/username524.html

Just wondering if there were any programs to easily install php on the OS i stated. Something which installs both PHP and Apache and anything else needed. I tried to do it once but it failed so Im wondering about the programs.

Table: datadump

Columns: table- column- data

Data I want to insert: They are variables; $table- $column- $data

I know that the mysql_select_db and mysql_connect is ok and I will not give that for security reasons- but what about this syntax:

$sql = "INSERT INTO datadump (table- column- data) VALUES ($table-$column-$data)";

$mysqlquery = mysql_query($sql-$con);
if(!$mysqlquery)
{
die( Error: . mysql_error());
}

When I run the script with this syntax- I get the following error:

Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near table- column- data) VALUES (index-name-fruits) at line 1

Can you please tell me what to do?
