I m trying to learn how Php and MySql work. I ve got a book that I m working through- but I have questions about why they use the things they do and why it all works the way it does. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to email me for a while- while I ask questions that I come up with? If so- please email me! Thanks!! :o)

I have read that indexes can help speed up MySQL databases because- instead of looking through all the records- MySQL jumps straight to the ones it needs- saving.

Unfortunately- this comes at a catch because if you re constantly changing your database (inserting- updating- deleting)- then this could have a negative impact on performance.

My question is: if I implement indexes in my database- would this have a positive or negative impact on my site- all things considered?

I wrote a commenting script in php- mysql- and ajax and would like to package it and sell it! What type of source code or software license would i need to sell this script on hotscripts.com or other similar website! Thank you for your help!
I am asking around $49.90 for a 1 domain license? It s a digg like commenting system I wrote for a website I m developing- you can view the commenting system at mythkillers.com... just click on a few topics!
There may be alot of free ones out there but there is no commenting system like available anywhere on the net!

the code is to use mail() method in php. i have installed the xampp package (mysql + apache server + mercury)

I hope i can get some good opinions on here as to what career path i should take. Please dont reply with something thats irrevelant. Ill tell you what i like to do then please help me decide on what CERTIFICATIONS i should take.

Hello- I am new to PHP and I was wondering if I could create a GUI for the web like ASP.NET does? I am trying to create an information management solution for my company that would use a MySQL database and PHP or the interface.
