Anyone know of any reliable webhosts with PHP and MySQL? Im going to host a text based game on it and I can t find any good ones.

I am wondering if anyone knows how or if I can have a dropdown menu on a form of table entries.

EXAMPLE: Form asks what kind of home you want to build?

Table Homes has: Ranch- Cape- SaltBox- Two-Story- etc.

those choices would be in the drop down of choices.

This way if ever a new type of home is available then it could just be added to the table of homes instead of the page recoded to add another option?

What open-source LMS would you recommend?

I am currently using Moodle but find it very limited. It loads slowly- the code is bloated and design options are limited (tricky at best).

P.S. Something based on PHP+MySQL would be preferred- but not necessary.
Purpose: use within a University for students to see (only) their schedule- special events and study fees. It will serve as a presentation site for non-registered users as well (a WYSIWYG editor will be needed).

A good forum- if available- would be nice- otherwise phpBB (3) will be used.

Are there open source Group Collaboration Tools available with similar functionality to Yahoo Groups or Google groups?

I have a client who would like to have a similar system- running directly from their web server- which they could enhance and customise to suit their specific needs. The current server is running on Linux- Apache- MySQL and PHP (LAMP)- so something compatible would be ideal.

I ve done some searching without success and would greatly appreciate any assistance or points in the right direction.

I have done basic webpages like www.bobicefanbase.com- myself using frontpage and uploading ftp. Now I am doing a different webpage and want to use a css style sheet like wordpress or b2evolution.

I have downloaded the file or whatever from b2evolution (tried wordpress too)- I have added the mysql database in my cpanel. However- I do not know where to upload the stuff to show on your webpage. Where do you upload it to? The database?? How do you add your personal stuff once its uploaded?

I need DETAILED instructions on this! I am totally lost 100%!
